The Vision

Dr. Julie Etheridge
Founder & Lead Curriculum Designer
What if professional development actually inspired you?
I founded VISIE on a simple belief: works of art deepen thinking and meaning. Making art, experimenting, taking creative risks — these experiences unlock something in all of us. Professional development should do the same. It should inspire, not just inform.
Quality professional development shouldn't be a luxury. Our free, live online workshops bring small groups of educators together for hands-on, art-centered experiences that gently find their way into your classroom — because arts integration deepens understanding across every subject, for every student.
Sessions are capped at 6–12 participants. Just genuine engagement and real connection with fellow educators. Every participant receives a PD certificate.
Working with a school or district? We offer customized curriculum design, research-based program evaluation, and tailored arts-integrated workshops.

The Vanishing Point: Math & Art workshop
"Very interesting workshop — I definitely learned new ways to share perspective with my students and new terminology to use with them as well. I look forward to more sessions!"

The Art of Observation webinar
"I am blown away by this experience. No one really talks about how to get students to think and reflect — this seminar was perfect for exploring exactly that. I love the way you scaffold learning and devise structured, hands-on activities. I plan to use this with all of my students from K–8th grade."

Have questions?
What platform do you use? Workshops and webinars are hosted on Zoom.
What materials do I need? All workshops use simple, everyday materials you'll already find in your classroom. Any specifics will be listed in your confirmation email.
Are sessions recorded? All workshops are live and not recorded. This is intentional — the small-group format and real-time discussion are what make VISIE workshops different.
What is there a $ 5.00 registration fee? A $5.00 deposit is required to reserve your spot and is fully reimbursed when you attend. This simply helps us ensure our small groups are filled with educators who are committed and ready to engage.
Do I receive a PD certificate? Yes. All participants receive a certificate of completion.
Why are workshops limited to such small groups? Just like your classroom, learning happens in conversation, not in a crowd. Our workshops are intentionally capped between 6 and 12 participants so every educator has space to engage, reflect, and be heard.
Don't see a workshop that works for you? No worries! New workshops are always in development and our sessions rotate throughout the year. If you missed one or the timing doesn't work, just reach out.
